Boxed Wedding Invitations, Two Ways
Velvet, Matched to Your Colour
The colour range is refreshed through the year: black, deep red, dusty tones, and jewel shades with a rich, royal depth. Post us a swatch, share your florist's mood board, or send the fabric of your bridesmaids' dresses, and we match the shade to it, then confirm it with you before binding. A velvet wedding invitation box begins with fabric hand-wrapped over the board: the softer of the two to hold, the more luxurious, and a little extra to buy.
Custom Paper, for the Widest Palette
A custom paper or premium material wrap carries far more colours and textures than the fabric does, from the softest white to the deepest tones. Bring the paper swatch from your suite and the wrap is chosen alongside it.
Velvet or paper is purely personal preference — the board, binding and lid are identical either way, and both end in elegant boxed wedding invitations in precisely the palette of your day.
Designed to Be Opened
The lid lifts up and over the base, a slow reveal. Most couples tie theirs closed with a matching fabric ribbon; if you'd prefer a cleaner line, a magnetic close is available, or we can build a pull-out drawer into the base and the suite slides straight out.
Inside, the pieces sit in foam cut to your suite's profile, or on a raised bed with slits at the corners holding each of them in place. A wax seal is a favourite finishing touch: pressed onto the printed piece itself, closing a vellum wrap, or securing the tie. We cut seals with your initials or a botanical die, so even the smallest detail is personalised. Seals from our existing collection are $1.00 apiece; a custom design is $2.20 each plus $120 for the stamp itself.
The Lid Is the Introduction
Your names arrive before your guests read a word: on the lid, we offer two finishes we stand behind completely. A monogram stamped in gold, rose gold, silver or copper, or a colour foil chosen to your palette. Or your initials laser-cut from mirrored acrylic and set proud of the surface by hand, catching the light before it's even opened.
A foil monogram is the usual choice. A foil beyond those colours depends on what our supplier can source, and we check availability before you commit. Either way, your monogram is proofed digitally and signed off by you before the first lid is struck.
What Goes Inside Is Yours Entirely
The insert is chosen separately, and pairs with anything in our range: a ready-made designer card from $2, a crystal-clear acrylic invitation, a hardcover, a pocket-fold style (colour it for $1.00 more), or a heavyweight board that takes a deep deboss and an engraved crest, with a deckled edge where the suite calls for it. There are 300+ to begin from, all adjustable to your wording and colours, and our premium range runs to $35 per set. Everything is printed in-house on our own presses in Melbourne, with 20+ print techniques under one roof and a choice of 60+ paper colours and materials, Colorplan and Fedrigoni among them. Where the paper colour has to agree with the velvet exactly, a printed proof is $25 plus postage, because a screen will only ever bring you close. Whatever your style, our award-winning designers plan the two together, so what your guests receive is a wedding card with box conceived as one set, the pairing decided before anything is cut.
Built to the Measurements of Your Suite
Our full C5 size — 162 x 229mm — holds a classic 5x7 exactly, and beyond that we build to your own suite. Longer, for a landscape design; shallower, for a single insert and a seal. Deeper, when there are several pieces to hold — boxed Indian wedding invitations, with a card for each ceremony and celebration, are a natural fit for a taller build. Any size you like, in other words: send us the finished dimensions, tell us how many pieces are riding along and whether a seal or vellum adds to the height, and we cut to them. If your suite is still being drawn, we wait and size from the approved proof. The fit is exact because we build after your suite, never before it.
A Design Entirely Your Own
Some couples come to us with a vision entirely their own, and our answer is almost always yes. Ten thousand-plus creations in, the ideas still surprise us. We've cut laser patterns for international celebrity clients, Vanessa Williams and Alin Le' Kal among them, and once built tooling to trace the lace of a bride's own gown, so the pattern carried the dress before anyone had seen it. Getting Them Into Your Guests' Hands
At this depth, Australia Post charges parcel rate rather than letter rate. Most Melbourne couples hand-deliver locally, and there's something rather lovely about that. For the guests you're posting to, we die-cut 3D mailing envelopes to size and foil-stamp them to match the lid, so the presentation begins at the letterbox. Everything is dispatched from our own Australian facility and ships Australia-wide.
What It Costs
Our wedding invitation box price starts from $20, before the card inside, and allow around three weeks after approval. Print runs start at a minimum of twenty, or fifty on a few finishes. An order of twenty is as welcome as two hundred. Before you compare it with anything else, remember what luxury boxed wedding cards are made of at that price: hand-wrapped rigid board, a fitted interior, and a lid finished in foil or mirrored acrylic, built by designers with 30 years of combined commercial print experience, in a studio that began as a design agency serving Australia's top brands. Your first digital proof arrives within 1–2 business days of ordering, and each round of revisions takes the same. The stationery inside runs to its own clock: five business days for flat printing, ten to twelve for foil, letterpress or embossing, and overnight for a piece already in our collection when the date has crept up on you. On the printing itself, our best price-beat promise covers every print style. Work begins on deposit and the balance falls due before production, by PayPal, bank transfer or credit card.

Flat-Packed to Save on Shipping
We're one of very few studios that can flat-pack box invitations. Every piece is cut, wrapped and finished in our studio exactly as it always is; the order reaches you flat, and each folds together in two to three minutes. That takes out a large part of the hand-assembly cost, and it removes the shipping charge that catches most couples out. Assembled, they take up enormous space in transit, and on a full order the freight from us to you can blow a budget by itself. Ask for a quote on both and compare the two.
Boxes for Your Closest Guests
You decide how many guests are handed one, and every name on the list still gets the printed stationery. Five, ten, fifteen or twenty for the people whose reaction you want to see — your parents, the bridal party, the grandparents — and everyone else receives the identical invitation in a normal envelope. The same design and suite, at a fraction of the cost.
The ribbon coming loose and the lid lifting is the unveiling your videographer wants for the film, and the monogram is what your photographer sets out for the detail photographs.
