Real Wedding: Janice & Mark
Janice and Mark had known each other in high school, but re-connected while studying at University. During this time their love blossomed over many long coffee breaks and after lecture dates.
A celebration of life and love, Janice and Mark tied the knot at Chowder Bay in Mosman, Sydney on the 3rd of January 2014. The ceremony location was significant to the couple because Mark who is an avid scuba diver has spent many hours under the waves of Chowder Bay honing in his skills. It is also particularly special for Janice who enjoys walking the many trails of the beautiful bushlands taking in the Harbour views. As a couple Janice and Mark spend a lot of their down time relaxing by the sea, so a seaside ceremony seemed the most obvious choice.
Their ceremony and reception were held at Sergeants Mess. The venue is located on the cliff edge of Sydney Harbour and has a beautiful outdoor amphitheater garden which the couple used for their ceremony. This provided the couple with the beautiful harbour as their backdrop.
According to Janice the weather was perfect ‘not too hot with a nice cooling sea breeze.’ The ideal weather helped them capture their breathtaking photos at Chowder Bay, near and at their reception venue.
The day was ‘full of love and celebration!’ Janice said.
Janice opted to wear a striking handmade head piece in her lovely up do for the big day. To complete her look she paired this with Swarovski jewels which she had picked out specifically to match her engagement and wedding ring which were designed by Mark.
Janice’s bridesmaid’s wore dresses by Truesse and while red and orange were the couples flower colours, Janice chose the aqua green of the bridesmaid dresses to go with the ocean. Mark picked the Rodd & Gunn groomsmen outfits, because he wanted the groomsmen to be different and stand out in their own right. He also felt the checked shirt went well with the girls aqua dresses. Janice says ‘he picked very well!’
Janice’s favourite moment: ‘Was our first kiss as husband and wife. Our photographer captured this very special moment magically.’
