Tying the knot on 15th March 2014, Melissa and Shane with their bridal party in tow took advantage of the beautiful surrounds of Wollongong and that picturesque Lighthouse to take some memorable snaps despite the rain.
The day went pretty well according to Melissa “from 6am we were getting ready, the day looked perfect weather wise until the photos crazy winds and rain, one of my bridesmaids even got hit with a wave that hit a rock and drenched her.. But we all went back to the penthouse and freshened up with canapés and champagne prepared by my mother in-law before heading to the reception!”
After braving the rain and taking some photos following the ceremony the couple took some time out to freshen up before the reception.
The couple held their reception at Harbourfront Restaurant Wollongong. Speaking on her venue Melissa said “I wanted water views and we love the south coast, it’s very relaxed and the venue exceeded all our expectations, 5 star food and service all night! We had been there for lunch and dinner a few times before and loved it!”
Styled with a classic, classy and simple theme in mind, the reception which was held at Harbourfront Restaurant in Wollongong featured a colour scheme of ivory and champagne with lots of flowers and candles.
“I had the tables all different with tea lights and lots of little vases of flowers, the chairs were white with ivory lace ties and the room was dim with lots of candles!” said Melissa.
“The reception was perfect, overlooking the harbour and on arrival there was a rainbow as the weather had cleared up! Food, wine and dancing all night” said Melissa.
Melissa’s favourite moment from the day was the couple’s first dance.
